The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced several new security measures for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, which will be held on June 21. The steps have been taken after the earlier exam was cancelled due to allegations of a question paper leak.

One of the biggest changes is that the Indian Air Force (IAF) will help transport question papers across the country. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the move will ensure the papers reach examination centres safely and on time, especially in remote areas and places affected by bad weather.

The NTA will also use GPS tracking to monitor question papers from printing centres to exam venues. Authorities will track the movement in real time to prevent any tampering or unauthorised access.

Students appearing for the exam will have to undergo biometric verification to stop impersonation. Exam centres will be monitored through AI-enabled CCTV cameras, allowing officials to identify any suspicious activity instantly.

To strengthen security further, the NTA has introduced encrypted digital systems for handling question papers. Access to printing and storage facilities has been restricted, and stricter confidentiality rules have been put in place for officials involved in the process.

Mobile signal jammers will be installed at exam centres, and candidates will face stricter frisking to prevent the use of electronic devices for cheating.

Police, district administrations and local authorities have also been asked to work closely with the NTA. Additional security personnel will guard storage locations, while transportation and distribution routes will be closely monitored.

The NTA has warned students against believing false claims on social media about leaked or sold question papers. The agency said such messages are fake and intended to mislead candidates. It has also filed complaints with law enforcement and cybercrime authorities against those spreading misinformation.

Officials believe that the combination of IAF transportation, GPS tracking, biometric checks, AI surveillance, signal jammers and increased police monitoring will make the re-exam highly secure.

The June 21 NEET-UG 2026 re-examination is expected to be one of the most closely monitored entrance tests in India. Authorities hope these measures will restore confidence among students and ensure a fair and transparent examination process.
